Job Posting: Associate, Policy and Stakeholder Engagement


The Canadian Council for Public-Private Partnerships (CCPPP) is inviting applications for the position of Associate, Policy and Stakeholder Engagement. Our ideal candidate will play a critical role in supporting the organization’s research, policy development, and advocacy initiative

We are seeking a highly motivated, detail-oriented individual who has a passion for public policy and evidence-based research.

Working closely with the Director, Policy and Public Affairs, this role is ideal for a motivated early career professional who combines strong policy analysis capability with an interest in relationship-building, strategic outreach and public affairs. The successful candidate will contribute to shaping policy conversations and strengthening the Council’s national network of partner

This is a full-time permanent position based remotely, with candidates expected to be located within reasonable proximity to Toronto or Ottawa to allow for periodic in-person meetings, events and stakeholder engagements. Occasional travel and flexibility for evening meetings will be required.

ABOUT US

Established in 1993, CCPPP is a national not-for-profit non-partisan, member-based organization with broad and unique representation from across the public and private sectors. Our members represent leading construction, engineering, legal, and advisory firms; banks and financiers; operators and facilities maintenance firms; and public sector owners, all collaborating to build Canada’s much needed public infrastructure. The Council’s vision is to shape the future of Canada’s infrastructure and services by delivering value to Canadians through Public-Private Partnerships (P3s). The Council does this through:

  • Convening both public and private market participants to discuss leading practices and harness lessons learned and adapting the model as needed;
  • Advocating for the use of public-private partnership models, where appropriate, to build a sustained pipeline of projects across the country; and
  • Conducting research to support evidence-based decision making and demonstrate the benefits of the model.

ABOUT THE JOB

Reporting to the Director, Policy and Public Affairs, the Associate will be responsible for supporting a range of initiatives to support our policy and public affairs activities and providing high quality services to our members. Key duties and responsibilities include:

  • Contribute to the drafting of policy papers, submissions, briefing materials and advocacy products aligned with organizational priorities
  • Monitor infrastructure policy developments and procurement trends across federal, provincial, territorial and municipal jurisdictions
  • Support research initiatives that inform policy positioning and stakeholder engagement strategies
  • Prepare concise briefing notes and strategic summaries for senior leadership, committees and the Board
  • Assist in coordinating meetings, roundtables and consultations that advance policy priorities
  • Track stakeholder feedback and emerging issues to inform advocacy strategies
  • Collaborate with the Communications team to align outreach messaging with policy objectives
  • Support the preparation of presentations, speaking materials and correspondence for external audiences
  • Contribute to strengthening member engagement through policy-focused programming and outreach

RELEVANT SKILLS

The ideal candidate should possess excellent interpersonal skills to effectively communicate and collaborate with colleagues, members, and stakeholders and:

  • Bachelor’s degree in economics, public policy, political science, or equivalent experience and/or field
  • At least 1-3 years of experience in research, policy analysis, and/or politics and advocacy
  • Experience working with or within government, industry associations, or advocacy organizations and/or in the infrastructure space is an asset
  • Strong research, analytical and critical-thinking skills with an ability to synthesize complex information into clear insights
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; experience in drafting reports, briefing materials, and presentations
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze policy issues and synthesize complex information into clear insights
  • Ability to work collaboratively on a team and manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines in a remote environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite

Salary Range: $60,000-$70,000
