As we prepare to say goodbye to 2022, we have many people to thank for helping make this year — my first year as your president and CEO — a success as we work to better position the Council to meet the sector's evolving challenges and opportunities.

It's been wonderful getting to know our members, to understand their business interests and to glean their viewpoints on the issues and opportunities. I can't express how much I've appreciated your time and look forward to speaking with more of you in 2023.

A huge thank you to our members for their continuing support and for the sponsors who helped make our events possible in Vancouver, Calgary, Toronto and Halifax, as well as our first in-person Annual Conference in two years (check out the photo gallery from P3 2022 – link to P3 2022 | Flickr).

We'd also like to thank the volunteer directors who serve on the board and to our member experts who provide advice and feedback as we navigate our advocacy work, particularly EIFEL, which I'm pleased to say is already meeting with success.

In particular, I'd like to thank Mark Bain, who stepped down as chair on Nov. 30, for his knowledge, kindness and sense of humour, which have been invaluable this past year as I settle into the role. It was clear at P3 2022 how much Mark's guidance and unflagging enthusiasm has meant to the entire Canadian P3 industry.

With the support of our new Chair Johanne Mullen and our newly elected 30-member board of directors we will reveal a number of big changes in the new year, including a new brand for the Council and a new website, showcasing our industry's expertise, top projects, as well as our advocacy and research efforts.

While there is much to celebrate, we continue to keep close watch on ongoing developments from the Ottawa LRT inquiry report and dig deeper into its numerous recommendations to help support and protect the industry. We're also monitoring Alberta's P3 review and the rollout of several high-profile projects like High Frequency Rail and the Weeneebayko Area Health Authority (WAHA) hospital redevelopment, Infrastructure Ontario's debut progressive P3.

Wishing you all Happy Holidays, surrounded by friends and loved ones, and a wonderful 2023!
