A Panel & Networking Event coming up on Thursday, April 16 in downtown Toronto!
With a more than 30-year history of public-private partnerships in Canada, a growing number of critical infrastructure assets are preparing to enter what is known as “the handback phase” of their partnership agreements between governments and the private sector.
Over the next decade, the maintenance/and or operations of publicly owned projects such as the Confederation Bridge, John Hart Generating Station Replacement Project in British Columbia, the Trans-Canada Highway Project (Route 2) in New Brunswick and the Royal Ottawa Mental Health Centre will return to governments to manage.
Using new research from CCPPP, we’ll explore the questions, unique challenges and possible solutions governments, health authorities and Crown agencies can expect as they navigate this journey with their private sector partners. Our panel of experts will draw upon industry best practices and real-world case studies to tackle handback across three critical stages: pre-handback, handback and post-handback to ensure seamless delivery of services for Canadians, long lasting assets and value for taxpayers remain top of mind for all partners involved.
This discussion is the first step by CCPPP, with support from the Board of Directors, in engaging with the Canadian infrastructure sector to help create handback policy recommendations to help guide processes across the country.
Speakers include:
Moderator: Josh Van Deurzen, Partner, Torys LLP
