As financial markets continued to experience disruptions during the first half of 2009, CCPPP conducted a series of workshops with private sector representatives to examine the impact of the global financial crisis on the Canadian PPP market and to formulate recommendations on how to mitigate its effects. “The Impact of Global Credit Retraction and the Canadian PPP Market – Deliberations by the Industry Members of CCPPP (Spring/Summer 2009)” is the result of this 4-month consultation process, which involved project sponsors, lenders and advisors from over 30 participating companies.

With rapidly changing market conditions and recent improvements, the issues identified in this report may shift and proposed solutions may need to be adapted. This report should consequently be viewed as a contribution to an ongoing dialogue between public and private sector market participants to address the evolving issues in the Canadian PPP market.
