The Canadian Council for Public-Private Partnerships Announces
Winners of the 6th National Awards for Innovation and Excellence
The Canadian Council for Public-Private
Partnerships (CCPPP) today announced the winners of the fifth annual
National Awards for Innovation and Excellence in Public-Private
Partnerships at an awards dinner and presentation held at the
Downtown Toronto Hilton Hotel.
Winner of the Gold Award for Infrastructure
was the partnership of the New Brunswick Department of
Transportation and The Miller Group on behalf of the, Maritime Road
Development Corporation for the Fredericton-Moncton Highway
project.
The Gold Award for Service Delivery was
awarded to the partnership of the Ontario Ministry of Community, and
Social Services and Accenture for the Business Transformation
Project.
The Silver Award for Project Financing went to
the partnership of the City of Vancouver and Maxim Power Corp. for
the Maxim Power (B.C.) Inc. project.
The Silver Award for Infrastructure was given
to the partnership of the Newfoundland and Labrador Department of
Education, Centre for Distance Learning and Innovation (CDLI) and
Aliant Telecom.
An Award of Merit in Service Delivery and the
Champion Award were also announced.
The Award of Merit for Infrastructure was
presented to the partnership of Veterans Affairs Canada and Atlantic
Blue Cross Care for the Federal Health Claims Processing System.
Mr. Chuck Wills was the posthumous recipient
of the 2003 Champion Award presented to an individual within the
public-private partnership movement who best exemplifies the aims
and objectives of public-private partnerships. Mr. Wills was the
Chief Administrative Officer for the City of Windsor until his
retirement in March, 2002 and a member of the The Canadian Council
for Public-Private Partnerships Board of Directors from 1997 to 1999
serving as the Annual Conference Chair for three years. At his
death, he was the Chair of the Board for the University of Windsor.
