Dispelling the Myths: A Pan-Canadian Assessment of
PPP |
 |
|
The
Conference Board of Canada released a report on
January 28, 2010 on the "second wave" of PPP projects delivered by
Canada's P3 agencies and departments entitled
"Dispelling the Myths: A Pan-Canadian Assessment of
Public-Private Partnerships for Infrastructure
Investments."
It
addresses several myths often used by P3 opponents
(e.g. privatization, service standards,
transparency) and assesses the benefits and drawbacks
of P3 procurements based on recent Canadian evidence.
It found that infrastructure projects are delivering
savings in costs and time compared to conventional
procurement approaches. The report was funded
by CCPPP, Alberta Treasury Board, Infrastructure
Ontario, Infrastructure Québec, Partnerships British
Columbia, and PPP Canada. 82 pages;
free.
