The Canadian Council for Public-Private Partnerships Announces Winners of the 5th National Awards for Innovation and Excellence

The Canadian Council for Public-Private Partnerships (CCPPP) announced the winners of the fifth annual National Awards for Innovation and Excellence in Public-Private Partnerships at an awards dinner and presentation held on November 25th at the Downtown Toronto Hilton Hotel.

Winner of the Gold Award for Project Financing was the partnership of the City of London, Ontario and Ellis-Don Ltd. for the London Entertainment and Sports Centre.

The Gold Award for Service Delivery was awarded to the partnership of the Ontario Ministry of Public Safety and Security and Management and Training Corporation of Canada for the Ontario Corrections:  Central North Correctional Centre.

The Gold Award for Infrastructure went to the partnership of the City of Chilliwack, B.C. and Van Maren Construction for the City of Chilliwack, Five Corners Project.

The Silver Award for Service Delivery was given to the partnership of the Town of Canmore, Alberta and EPCOR Water Services for the Town of Canmore Utility Management Partnership.

An Award of Merit in Infrastructure and the Champion Award were also announced.

The Award of Merit for Infrastructure was presented to the partnership of the Town of Orangeville Ontario and the Orangeville-Brampton Railway Access Group for the Orangeville-Brampton Railway project.

Mr. William McMillin (Mac) Carson received the Champion Award awarded to an individual within the public-private partnership movement who best exemplifies the aims and objectives of public-private partnerships.  Mr. Carson is the past Chair of the Ontario Housing Corporation and also a past board member of The Canadian Council for Public-Private Partnerships.  He is currently active in a number of causes including a $7.9 million fund raising campaign for the Hamilton YWCA.
